Collection: Angela Koehler

Angela Koehler is a ceramicist and visual artist working from her home studio in the Barossa Valley. Inspired by the natural environment, personal experience and the materiality of clay, she creates hand-built ceramic works that often sit somewhere between functional objects and sculpture. Working intuitively with stoneware clays, Angela explores organic and geometric forms through techniques including slab-building, coiling and pinching. Her work celebrates the raw qualities of clay, with exposed surfaces, visible hand marks, textured finishes and sgraffito detailing. Influenced by the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi, she embraces imperfection, individuality and the beauty of materials.
