In 2012, The Barossa Regional Gallery held the 'Tea Towel Tales' Competition asking local artists to submit designs celebrating the region's rich culture of heritage, food and wine.
The winner was Ellen Schlobohm with her beautiful paper cut artwork, 'My Valley' incorporating her own lovely poem:
"come and take a walk with me
through the vines and amongst the trees
with food and wine, and hills to roam
in the valley that I call
home"
"To create 'My Valley' I drew upon the German cultural heritage that the Barossa Valley and I share by giving a contemporary slant to the age-old art of 'Scherenschnitte'. The rhyme expresses my pride in the region and serves as an invite to others to share the goodness that is the Barossa Valley," Ellen said at the time.
The winning tea towel design is available in three printed colours: Blue, Red, Taupe.
Printed in Australia on 100% Linen. Tea towel base colour is Off White.
